Alasdair and Christopher have closed Devenport Estate for a while given our work and study comitments and thank all our guests over the last ten years who made our B&B hosting such a rewarding experience - definitely like being on holiday ourselves.
Devenport Estate, 15 minutes from Wellington - a hobby vineyard and bed & breakfast homestead catering for mixed accommodation. Situated on a hillside 1.2 acre section, nestled in amongst native bush, with over 400 Pinot Gris/Pinot Noir grapevines. This Edwardian Styled Homestead has stunning views to Somes Island in Wellington Harbour. Being only 12kms from central Wellington, it is arguably the closest vineyard to the Capital.
The current homestead was completed at the turn of the century, [that is, early 2000] and replaced an old cottage built in the 1930s on the section. Today Devenport Estate offers Bed & Breakfast in a private seaside setting that is only 15 minutes from Wellington City and the Inter Island ferry terminals. Ideal when catching a ferry, going to the Westpac Trust Stadium or to shows/films in Wellington. We are a 10 minute train ride into Wellington - many of our guests leave their cars in Korokoro and catch the train into town from Petone Station.
